Gayelene Bonenfant - Calgary, AB
Gayelene Bonenfant came on board well before the actual launch of the endMS Campaign, helping to bring friends and colleagues together for “People Against MS” (PAMS) luncheons. She strongly believes that it is better to give than to receive and didn’t hesitate to put this belief into action. An MS Society volunteer since 2005, her personal connection to the disease is the reason she’s actively involved to end MS.
“The main reason for my involvement is my sister, Merrilee, who was diagnosed with MS in 1999,” says Gayelene. “But I literally cannot remember a time in my life when I didn’t know someone touched by MS – it is present everywhere.”
Gayelene has held several volunteer positions within the MS Society, most recently joining the Alberta & Northwest Territories Division Board of Directors. In addition to her time and expertise, she made a significant personal gift in support of the endMS Research & Training Network.
“My goal in contributing to the endMS Campaign can be simply stated: to put money in the hands of researchers to recruit new talent and to find new therapies and enhance existing treatment options,” says Gayelene. |
