Lisa Park - Halifax, NS
Thirty-five-year-old Lisa Park says her donation to the end MS Campaign just makes perfect sense. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2002, she has since made a significant personal and financial commitment to the MS Society of Canada.
“I got involved for selfish reasons, to find a cure for this disease that I have,” says Lisa. “I stay involved because of the great work that I see the MS Society doing for everyone who has multiple sclerosis.”
Inspired by the researchers who dedicate their lives to finding a cure for MS, Lisa and her husband Roger personally donated $5,000 to the Dr. T.J. (Jock) Murray Fund in support of the endMS Research and Training Network. She also approached her employer, KPMG, and was instrumental in facilitating a $100,000 gift from the organization to the endMS Campaign.
“I find the direction the MS Society has taken with this campaign very exciting,” says Lisa. “I think it’s smart to focus on engaging future generations of MS researchers. I am really motivated to give to that.”
Lisa is a top fundraising MS Walk participant, member of the Atlantic Division Board of Directors, chair of the development committee and a member of the Atlantic endMS Campaign cabinet. |
