Larry Plotnick - Montreal, PQ
Larry Plotnick first contacted the MS Society in September 2007. A few months earlier, his daughter-in-law, Joy, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It was very difficult for the whole family to accept that the energetic 35-year-old mother of two girls was diagnosed with the disease.
Larry, a seasoned executive with extensive business experience, found his involvement with the endMS Campaign completely natural. In his view, taking part in a national campaign with an overall objective to raise $60 million for MS research represented the kind of challenge that was tailor-made for him!
In the fall of 2009, Larry and members of his family sent out messages by mail and email, inviting more than 600 people to support MS research through an online donation web page. To-date, Larry has more than doubled his initial fundraising objective, raising more than $124,000!
“We hope that our family and friends will help us raise money to support the research that will, hopefully sooner rather than later, find a cure for this potentially very debilitating disease,” said Larry.
