Asad Wali - Toronto, ON
As with anything in life there are the early adopters – people who can foresee the impact something will have before it happens, get involved, rally and lead others.
When the details about the endMS Campaign were still being developed, Asad Wali recognized its significance to the future of MS research in Canada.
Motivated by the future impact of the endMS Network, Asad chose to get involved. In less than six months, he raised more than $100,000 by asking friends to join the movement to end MS. His fundraising efforts have now surpassed $250,000.
“I feel privileged to be a part of something as groundbreaking and transformational as the endMS Campaign and the Network it was created to fund,” says Asad. “Bringing together this calibre of volunteers supporting world class research is a tremendous step forward for research into this disease.”
Asad was a rising star in the political world when he was forced to retire due to the impact of secondary progressive MS on his life. Although he has stopped working, he maintains an insatiable appetite for politics and keeps a close network of political contacts.
“An end to MS means it ends with me,” says Asad. “No more suffering. No more pain. No more uncertainty. Only hope, health and happiness.” |
