My name is Ryan O’Meara and I am currently working in a laboratory studying multiple sclerosis. I have been interested in science all my life, the biomedical field in particular. After completing an undergraduate degree in Biology, I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Neuroscience. Possessing a large interest in the development of neuromuscular disease, I sought a lab in which I would be able to focus this in area. I became particularly interested in studying multiple sclerosis after realizing how many Canadians are affected by this devastating disease. My current project is geared towards determining the role of how a particular set of proteins governs the myelination in the brain.
