August 2009 marked the 3rd annual MS Summer Adventure Camp program for children and teens living with MS; a collaboration with Easter Seals, the Hospital for Sick Children’s Paediatric MS Clinic and the MS Society of Canada.
We are happy to announce that applications are now available for the 2010 MS Summer Camp (August 14-20) to be held this summer.
Parents, you will be thrilled to learn that all costs associated with the camp (including travel) are covered by generous funding from the RBC Foundation and the Fondation Bergeron-Jette’.
Easter Seals Camp Merrywood is a 30-acre site located between Perth and Smith Falls, on the banks of the beautiful Big Rideau Lake in Eastern Ontario.
Campers ranging in age from 8-18, who are directly impacted by multiple sclerosis, take part in programs that not only boast fun and adventure, but also provide a much-needed respite from the stresses associated with living with MS, while also allowing youth to share similar experiences... and to especially just enjoy being kids!
Participants can choose from a wide variety of activities: kayaking, swimming, sailing, games, white water rafting, dancing, photography, overnight and day trips, and SO much more.
Campers can take a time out to rest when they need it, but there is always plenty going on to take part in.
Easter Seals counselors lead camp activities with experience and lots of energy. Nurses from the Paediatric MS Clinic at the Hospital for Sick Children will also be on site to support medical needs of participants.

Remember, children are the future... let’s give them a future to look forward to.
Irreverently Yours,
Aug, who can’t wait for summer!
