The Alberta Division of the MS Society and PAMS (People Against MS) hosted the fifth PAMS event at the Calgary Petroleum Club on November 6, 2008.
The breakfast meeting featured two key note speakers: Dr. Brenda Banwell, director, Paediatric MS Clinic for Sick Children, Toronto and Ken Mayhew, chief development officer, MS Society of Canada. Dr. Banwell is recognized as a leader in paediatric MS and collaborates with other neurologists and researchers throughout the world. Ken has been with the MS Society for more than 15 years, and is very involved in the recently launched $60 million endMS capital campaign.
The proceedings were emceed by Gayelene Bonenfant, and her firm, Bonenfant Resources was the generous sponsor of the event. Gayelene has been a very active supporter from the inception of “PAMS,” and continues to serve on the organizing committee.
Ken also introduced Fred Moore, an endMS donor, who publicly thanked his colleagues and friends that pledged support to the endMS Campaign following the May PAMS luncheon. Fred has also been most generous, and in turn urged all present to join him in becoming involved in the Campaign.
The next PAMS event will take place in the spring of 2009.
