On February 24th, MS researchers, clinicians, nurses, pharmaceutical representatives, patients, friends, and family attended a benefit dinner and jazz concert in Montreal to raise funds and awareness for the endMS campaign – packing the house at Resto Robin des Bois, le resto bienfaiteur.
The dinner was sponsored by EMD Serono Canada and Robert Gervais, a member of the executive board of the MS Society, Quebec Division served as master of ceremonies.
The night featured presentations on the importance of MS research by Dr. Jack Antel, scientific director of the endMS Research and Training Network, and by Louis Adam, executive director of the MS Society, Quebec Division. The night also featured a musical performance by jazz vocalist John Labelle and his musicians.
The event was organized by Zografos Caramanos, MS researcher at the Montreal Neurological Institute, Rozalia Arnaoutelis and Gayle Polney of the endMS Research and Training Network, and Stephen Riby of EMD Serono Canada. By all measures, the event was a great success. All agreed that it was a wonderful night of food, fun, and entertainment.
All proceeds from the event were donated to the endMS campaign and earmarked towards research.
The event raised $10,000. A recap of the night will soon be available on the MSSC website.
