Waterloo, Ontario, home of RIM and the Blackberry, also sets the stage for the annual Fall Fashion Fantasy Show in support of MS. Held on October 19th 2008, the sold out show raised over $20,000 in support of the MS Society’s Waterloo Chapter and the endMS campaign. Since its inception in 1997, the Fall Fashion Fantasy Show has raised over $125,000 for MS research and services.
The committee of eight volunteers works tirelessly throughout the year to secure sponsorship and organize every detail of the event – from flower arrangements and volunteer models, to the complimentary signature glass of champagne enjoyed by all guests. Susan Antonello has been chair of the organizing committee since the beginning, and under her leadership the show has grown from 100 to over 300 guests.
Having heard about the endMS campaign via the chapter newsletter, Susan shared its inspirational messages with the guests of the Fall Fashion Fantasy Show. This year, a portion of proceeds were specifically directed to the campaign. Susan is incredibly proud of the show’s success and is enthusiastic to share her story and experience with other interested chapter members interested in organizing similar events. She can be reached via e-mail at sueanto@rogers.com.
A job well done, Susan!
